From the darker, more theatrical side of Fusion comes a collaboration of dancers with extensive belly dance backgrounds…and a love for the dance. Deshret Dance Company (DDC) is a professional belly dance company based in Oakland, California.
DDC applies pressure to the boundaries of Middle Eastern dance and attempts to bring a more theatrical and artistic side to this ancient, highly skilled, art form. Deshret keeps its roots grounded in the traditional technique and movements of Middle Eastern dance and then morphs them into something new and different.
Deshret was founded in early 2007 by Ariellah, the company's artistic director. Deshret's current collaborating dancers are: Crystal Silmi, Tanja Odzak, Elizabeth Strong, Freyja, Natalie Nayun, Jodi Waseca and Miriam Peretz. Each of the dancers contribute their individuality and strength to the dance company.
DDC wanders somewhere between the old and the new, infusing classical Middle Eastern dance with modern Fusion belly dance.

Growing like wildfire under the canopy of live electonica and world roots music comes a masterful merge of modern technology, live instrumentation and seductive performance, built of brass bands and glitch, string quartets and dubstep: the musical trio Beats Antique.
Since the group’s inception from the eclectic underground of San Francisco’s performance art scene, Beats Antique has been notorious for making it nearly impossible to sit still. They meld their mediums as attentively as they fuse the cultures that inspire their sound. All self produced and composed, the trio creates a unique collage: an animalistic, raw musical event that blurs the lines between the provocative, the spiritual, and the artistic, while still maintaining an allegiance to the muses of class and beauty.
Beats Antique is best imagined as an innovative creature built from the cumulative heritage of the world’s music chasing its tail. However vivid that image, when a marching band groove crashes into bluesy folk chords only to be accompanied by electronic beats and Middle Eastern melodies, you’ll still be surprised.

Yesyes, behold the emergence of the Klown Korps Kollective, formerly Circus Metropolus… co-producers of Bohemian Carnival, Crazy Maze, Red Nose District (at Burning Man), Lovefest/Loveparade, Lagunitas Beer Circus, and muchas mas. CM went down in technicolor flames somewhere over the Pacific coastline following a bird strike involving our blimp this past summer. The crew narrowly escaped, bloodied and battered, and following a grueling round of invasive and pervasive plastic surgery, including intensive reconstructive rhinoplasty, has risen of the ashes, better, stronger, faster — and completely 100% klown from here on out.

We mix classic burlesque aesthetic with a vaudevillian kick in the pants sentiment. We combine klowning, bellydance, jazz-modern-hip hop dance with storytelling and audience appreciation....
We are 3 professional dancers, one mad scientist, and a monkey.

Just back from a 6 month nationwide tour!!!
The Life Size Mousetrap is the classic board game miniature turned into a life-size spectacle! "A colorful assemblage of kinetic sculpture fantastically handcrafted into a giant 25 TON Rube Goldberg machine! This classic contraption comes to life with a vaudevillian style road show that features dancing mice and live music by Esmerelda Strange! Also on crew are well dressed "Clown 'engineers" who endeavor to achieve a chain reaction using Newtonian physics and bowling balls! The action culminates with the spectacular dropping of a 2 TON bank safe from a 30' crane!
