January workshops and performances
What?!? January is halfway over already?!? The way that I know this is because I am readying myself for the best week so far this year...so many performances and workshops in the span of a few days...hence the MINI TOUR EXTRAVAGANZA! Wheeeeee! First up is a show that I've been excitedly anticipating for weeks! THIS TUESDAY, January 20, I have the honor to be dancing with musicians that have shaped the way that I have listened to music & created my dance...AND I have the true honor to call them dear friends as well. 8pm at the Mint LA (6010 W. Pico Blvd, Los Angeles), I'm dancing with Dead Klown Society, Delphine St. Paer (ft Eric McFadden), and Angelo Moore's new project, Dr Madd Vibe and the Missing Links! Find all all the info that you need to know about this show HERE. Then Friday, January 23, I'm back up in Northern California for a weekend for of fun, instruction, and frivolity! First on the fun list is a performance at Red Hots Burlesque at El Rio! I'm still deciding what act to bring, so come and be titillated and surprised by me and the other lovelies that have the honor to grace Dottie's stage at 8pm! Find out about Red Hots HERE. After that, I'll be racing over to Amnesia on Valencia St (in between 19th & 20th) for the monthly show that I co-produce, Baxtalo Drom-the Lucky Road. This is our 8th anniversary show, come celebrate with us! We have Kingfish from Hubba Hubba Revue hosting the evening, DJ Zeljko (Kafkana Balkan) making you dance all night long, and performances by Zoe Jakes and Arcana! Find out all the details HERE. Saturday, January 24, I'm heading even further north to my old studio, Long Valley Dance in Laytonville, to teach a day long workshop series in technique, performance skills, and choreography! From 1-3:30 is the KIDS class, then from 4:00-8pm are the adult technique and choreography classes. I'm super excited to come back to Mendocino County to dance with the wonderful dancers there! There is still room in all 3 classes, but they are filling up quick...and if you pre-register you receive a discount! You can find out all of the details of the classes and how to pre-register HERE & HERE. Registration closes this Friday, but if you come without pre-registering, we'll fit you in :) Then I'm heading back down the 101 on Sunday, January 25 to lovely Sonoma County to teach 2 different workshops! The first will be held at the brand new Sirens Studio at Hutchins Hall in Sebastopol at 3:30pm. I'm calling it "Technique Tune Up", and we'll work on getting that extra sumpin in your movement while refining where you are at in your dance right now. I'm also accepting pre-registrations for this class (and offering a discount if you do so), and all of the details of all you need to know about this class are found HERE. After that at 6pm at Footloose Dance Studio in Rohnert Park, I'll be teaching week 3 of Eva D Luscious' Burlesque and Showgirl series-Stage Presence and Play! This is a fantastic workshop for any kind of dancer, in fact, I teach this class often at bellydance festivals. You don't have to be into burlesque at all to join in the fun, this class is geared towards making you a well-rounded performer, no matter what you dance! But if you are interested in learning more about burlesque, I encourage you to take Eva's whole series! You can pre-register for just my workshop or for the whole series, and info on how to do so is found HERE. And then, after a photo shoot and a rehearsal with my bellydance friends, I will embark on my last show of this whirlwind week on Monday, January 26 at Hubba Hubba Revue's Monday nights above DNA in SF, where I will not only be hosting, but performing as well! I can't wait to rejoin my Monday night Hubba family...it's been far too long! AND you get free admission to Death Guild after the show! WUT?!? Find out all of the deets HERE. I do hope that I get to see you at one of these events~come say hi! Any questions about any of this? Contact me HERE!
